Join us on September 21st for our famous monthly Fin & Tonic meetups! This time we will talk about ICO.
As you may know, China recently announced they are banning ICO! An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is often used by startups to bypass the rigorous and regulated capital-raising process required by venture capitalists or banks. In an ICO campaign, a percentage of the cryptocurrency is sold to early backers of the project in exchange for legal tender or other cryptocurrencies.
Come and join us for this Fin & Tonic where we will discuss the key advantages and disadvantages of ICO, see what is the position of the Belgian regulator and also have some use cases with some Belgian companies doing ICO.
Dave Remue, blockchain lead from B-Hive will explain the ICO principles, advantages and disadvantages versus other sources of funding.
Matthew Van Niekerk, SettleMint CEO, will share some insights on their token sale for DataBroker DAO a peer-to-peer marketplace for IoT sensor data.
Then, we will have a panel discussion with Dave Remue (B-Hive), Matthew Van Niekerk (CEO of SettleMint) and Jo Vercammen (CEO of Orillia).
The meetup will be followed by a networking reception with some food and gin!
This event is FREE for B-Hive members & partners and 15 EURO for regular tickets. Not a member yet? Join our community.
