Eggsplore has been approved as one of the 13 innovative cluster organizations by the Flemish Government (Agentschap Innoveren & Ondernemen) to act as the representative organisation for the Fintech community. The public support that comes with this nomination will allow Eggsplore to intensify its efforts to grow the Fintech ecosystem. Eggsplore is also among the first twenty organizations that have formed The Global FinTech Hubs Federation (GFHF), an initiative supported by Innotribe and Innovate Finance, which is an independent and inclusive global network of emerging and established FinTech hubs that helps to foster innovation across the world’s financial services industry.
Eggsplore is powered by the biggest players in the Belgian financial services industry (AXA, Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, Cresco, Euroclear, ING, KBC, McKinsey, Proximus and SWIFT). They have invested in this initiative to boost Brussels as a digital finance center, and this has now been reinforced by the Flemish Government support. During the 3 year project, Eggsplore will be connecting and supporting multiple technology companies, focusing on what is called “tech4fin”. This broad definition covers all technologies that are interesting for the financial industry. This includes fintech companies in the ‘pure’ sense of the word, as well as analytics, cybersecurity, Internet Of Things and other relevant technology categories.
These tech companies are the core of the Eggsplore community, and they are further complemented by investment funds, universities and business schools, and other supporting professional services companies. Eggsplore aims at connecting companies through specific domain focused programs (Internet Of Things, Blockchain, Insurtech, Cybersecurity, …), offering all relevant companies the right platform to showcase their products and services. It also helps increasing their visibility through network events, foreign missions and seminars.
On the 3d of November, Eggsplore will be organizing its yearly conference, the Fintech Festival, at Flagey. It is the place to be to discuss technology and meet interesting contacts from all across Europe, in an informal and lively context.
In support of its community activities, Eggsplore is based in a physical hub in Diegem, close to Brussels Airport Besides offering affordable coworking spaces for its members, the building houses corporate incubators, training sessions, events and offers multiple networking opportunities. Eggsplore will be moving their rapidly growing community to a new larger state-of-the-art fintech hub in the first half of 2017.
