Recap: B-Hive kicks things off in New York with launch and matchmaking events

It’s been a busy few days for B-Hive in New York! Not only did B-Hive officially launch its New York hub, but it also hosted a matchmaking event with partners and members of the community.

Following the successful launches in London and Tel Aviv, B-Hive New York aims to build a bridge between Europe and the Americas. Working with American-based players as well as EU-based participants makes our partners and members stronger through collaboration and further innovation.

New York was a clear choice for B-Hive’s latest hub location, as the city is a powerhouse in the financial services and technology industries. In addition, American companies looking to expand in Europe can leverage B-Hive’s platform that provides both support and guidance through its wide partner network —ranging from traditional financial actors to dynamic startups and government decision makers.

The evening comprised of opening remarks from Tom Casteleyn of BNY Mellon, as well as a keynote from Jo Van de Velde of Euroclear. Our panel discussion, “How to land and expand in Europe,” was moderated by B-Hive’s Niek De Taeye and included Luc Burgelman of NGDATA, Peter Weed of LumiaCapital and Matt Joseph of BNY Mellon. Many great talking points were brought up, including the future of the customer experience within the banking world.

Finally, after B-Hive’s Fabian Vandenreydt offered closing remarks, we were able to network as a group and enjoy some drinks! It was a fantastic event, so thank you to all who joined us!

The next morning, we hosted a matchmaking morning with members and partners—the event comprised of 11 scale-ups and 9 shareholders, and many great discussions were had around collaboration! Special thanks to Rise New York for hosting us in their beautiful co-working space.

Also, we held a little contest during the matchmaking morning - the "Let's close a deal" vote. Corporates selected their favorite scale-ups and in the end, selected DMetrics and Cutting Edge CA as the winners. Congratulations!
